At the heart of the historic district is the Charleston City Market. This is the most iconic and visited attraction in the city. A great place for locals and tourists to relax is Waterfront Park which stretches across more than 1000 feet of waterfront. From the park, you can take in amazing views of Charleston Harbor. The park is fairly old-fashioned with old park benches and double swings which face the water. A common site from the park is sailboats and larger ships in the harbor. The park has a central location close to the historic sites and the City Market.
